About the Role:
Imagination Childcare Academy, Inc. in Rochester, NY is looking for a passionate and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join their dedicated team! Responsibilities:
- Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities
- Supervise and engage children in educational play, arts and crafts, and structured learning exercises
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
- Assist with daily routines including meals, nap time, and transitions
- Observe and document children's developmental progress and behavior
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's daily activities and milestones
- Ensure compliance with childcare licensing regulations and safety standards
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred
- Prior experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic about early childhood development
- Ability to pass a background check and meet NYS childcare licensing requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, punctual, and a true team player
